Migrarea datelor

You can migrate business objects from other hosting platforms running on other servers, or use the data import feature for importing to Plesk the data gathered by migration agent (this is useful when you are migrating data within a single server).

To migrate data from other hosting platforms, follow the instruction presented in the Migrating Data from Other Hosting Platforms section of this help page. To import data, see the Importing Configuration section of this help page.

Migrating Data from Other Hosting Platforms

To migrate all user accounts, domains, and web sites with applications from other hosting platforms:

  1. Click the Server shortcut.
  2. Click the Migration Manager icon in the Services group.
  3. Click the Start Migration icon in the Tools group.
  4. Leave the Migration radio button selected, and specify the following options:
  5. Make sure that the remote hosting platform is running, and the "iconv" utility is installed in the remote host's operating system.
  6. Click Next>>. The migration manager will connect to the specified host and gather information on the business objects of the remote hosting platform.
  7. Select the Dump all option in the Migration mode group.
  8. If the Migration Manager detected the hosting platform incorrectly, select the platform from the Source platform drop-down box.
  9. If you want to specify data compression options, domain templates to be applied during migration, or remote host’s hard drive partitions that should be used for storing temporary files, click the Advanced tab, and select the required options.
  10. Click Next>>.
  11. Once the data are retrieved from the remote host, specify the IP address mapping settings and click Migrate.
  12. Once migration is completed, a detailed report will be presented on the screen. Click OK to exit the wizard.

To migrate individual user accounts, domain names and web sites with applications from other hosting platforms:

  1. Click the Server shortcut.
  2. Click Migration Manager.
  3. Click the Start Migration icon in the Tools group.
  4. Leave the Migration radio button selected, and specify the following options:
  5. Make sure that the remote hosting platform is running, and the "iconv" utility is installed in the remote host's operating system.
  6. Click Next>>. The migration manager will connect to the specified host and gather information on the business objects of the remote hosting platform.
  7. Select the Select objects that your wish to migrate from host option.
  8. If the Migration Manager detected the hosting platform incorrectly, select the platform from the Source platform drop-down box.
  9. If you want to specify data compression options, domain templates to be applied during migration, or remote host’s hard drive partitions that should be used for storing temporary files, click the Advanced tab, and select the required options.
  10. Click Next>>.
  11. Select which objects you wish to migrate to Plesk:
  12. Select the IP address on your Plesk host, to which the remote host’s IP addresses should be mapped.
  13. Click Migrate.
  14. Once migration is completed, a detailed report will be presented on the screen. Click OK to exit the wizard.

Importing Configuration

If you are migrating business objects from another hosting platform installed on another partition on the same server, and have completed all the pre-migration steps (as described in the Migration Manager chapter of Plesk Administrator's Manual), click the Server shortcut in the navigation pane, click Start Migration, select the Import configuration option and click Next>>.
On the next screen, select the accounts and domains you wish to migrate. When done, click Next>> and proceed with migration as usual.
